St. Giles Church, Skelton

St Giles Church, Skelton, is one of England's 1000 best churches (Simon Jenkins).
Building started in 1247, reputedly by masons also building York Minster.
The church is normally open every day from 10:00 to 16:00; visitors are welcome.
A guide to the church is available.

The congregation for ordinary services at St. Giles is usually about 30.
We use the "Common Worship" order of service, with hymns from "Mission Praise" and music
of "The Addington Service". We have recently formed "The St.Giles` Singers", who will be singing on the second Sunday of each month and for other special services.
Also recently formed (on St. Giles Day 1st. Sept.) was the Friends of St. Giles  which we hope will draw additional support from both the village and the wider community for our beautiful church. If you wish to become a member of "Friends", please send your name and address to friendsofstgiles@googlemail.com
If you do not wish to become a `Friend` but nevertheless want to support the church building and if you buy on the internet, why not sign up towww.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/srgilesskelton ?  ` Friends` will earn a percentage of all you buy on the internet with no extra charge to you.

You are always welcome to join with us at our services.
A church for all seasons
Our church is also an attractive  place for weddings and we receive enquiries from a wide area, now the rules for marriages in church have been relaxed.   We invite you to come and discover our beautiful church.
